Welcome
The Friends of Bruce Castle was founded in 1995 by a group of people concerned about
the future of the local authority-
The Museum, and the Archive service it houses, covers the whole of Haringey while the building and its park are an important amenity for Tottenham. But in today's world, like everything else, Bruce Castle struggles for the resources to maintain and develop its services for an increasingly diverse community and that is where the Friends help.
We help raise funds to support children's summer activities, for example, or to acquire items for the Museum's collection;
We help with exhibitions and at other events for example, at the Local History Fair in February and London Open City in September
We support the monthly talks programme at the Museum;
We engage with the council on matters related to the building and the park;
We liaise with other organisations and events, with the Tottenham Festival in June and with other local history and heritage organisations;
We publish a quarterly newsletter, The Round Tower, to keep Friends informed of what's happening;
We organise activities for our members, such as social gatherings and outings to buildings of related interest.
Above all, we are independent of the council, entirely self-
